In vitro evaluation of the herbal cream formulation from methanolic leaf extracts of Tephrosia vogelii Hook.f for topical application

Abstract Background Topical infectious are among of global challenges which propelled up with antimicrobial resistances. This scenario compels for drug discovery and development. Herbal formulation is one important struggle in the development purpose overcoming various diseases distressing health care settings. Thus, this study aimed to formulate evaluate herbal cream from leaf methanolic extracts Tephrosia vogelii Hook.f topical therapies. Methods was prepared by homogeneously mixing base vogelii. Physicochemical properties vitro activities were evaluated. The stability, colour change, washability texture parameters used physicochemical cream. Disc diffusion method employed against Candida albicans (ATCC 90,028), Escherichia coli (ATCC29953) Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC25923). Results Formulated creams; CBTV 1 , 2 3 concentrations content 0.05%, 0.10% 0.25%, respectively, prepared. All formulations stable, washable water, green soft. product exhibited high prominent activity compared rest, henceforth promisingly be effective skin therapy. Conclusion extract at 0.25% appeared have more performance. Therefore, it considered as minimal concentration future clinical trials a potential antifungal antibacterial agent treatment infections.
